Lesson 8 - Home Blood Pressure Monitoring

Back to Hypertension Channel

How Much Do They Cost?

While cost may be an important factor in choosing a monitor, it should not be the only factor to consider.

Average prices can range from about $20 to $30 for an aneroid model and $75 to $150 for a mercury model, and $40 to $200 for an electronic monitor.

Be sure to discuss prices with your insurance company and doctor, and seek suggestions for cost-effective models.

Checking local medical supply stores, pharmacies, and multi-purpose drug and convenience stores is also a good resource when trying to find a decently priced monitor.

Assignment # 3
