That covers the major complications of diabetes. There's a lot to chew on, that's for sure. But this section covers some of the most critical information you can learn.

How'd you do? We hope you feel satisfied. If not, you can always go over this stuff again.

Assignment #3
Let's try to get what we've covered into some real life experiences that you can. . . um . . . experience.

Chose one of the following assignments for your learning pleasure:

Take a good look at your feet. Check it for blisters, sores and cuts. When you're done, get someone to help you trim your nails. Foot care partners are a big help — many people with diabetes have damaged nerves in their toes, and can't tell if they trim their nails too far and cut their skin.

Take a good look at your mouth. How are your gums? Are they red or inflamed? How's your toothbrush holding up? If it's seen better days, go out and get yourself a new one. Figure out when you saw the dentist last and if you need to set up an appointment in the near future.

That about does it. Thanks for joining us. Your luggage will be unloaded at the — oh, wait, never mind.
